As a self proclaimed shoe geek, Laces Out was a festival that I could not be more excited about, just thinking about the amount of trainers there got me excited. So I booked the tickets and off we went to Liverpool for the day.
There was literally hundreds of shoes, some display only and some that you could buy, there was even teeny weeny shoes made out of cardboard!
We were also invited to a special screening of the Spezial film: Sole Searching in South America, which is about Gary Aspden travelling to Argentina and making an amazing discovery in the shape of Carlos Ruiz’s store. You can watch the film here if you fancy checking it out.
There was a panel consisting of style editors, store owners and shoe customisers, and it was all hosted by DJ Semtex, who also spoke to Bobbito Garcia about Hip-Hop, trainers and culture. It was interesting to hear all the different views about each shoe mentioned, and to listen to all the stories that people had in regards to their trainers.
The DJ line up was pretty impressive too and the food was amazing (obviously).
